Timberlands
Description
The Timberland Preserve is a 600-acre stretch of forest in Guilford that offers a peaceful and scenic walk through a mix of hardwoods, evergreens, and rocky terrain. Many of the trails loop around Upper Guilford Lake, offering quiet views of the water and a chance to spot birds and other wildlife along the shoreline. The Iron Stream also flows through the preserve, adding to the calm, natural setting. With a variety of forest features, stream crossings, and open woodland, it’s a great place to unwind and explore at your own pace.

This is one of my favorite hikes on the shoreline. It's mostly easy to moderate difficulty. The loop takes you all the way around the Upper Guilford Lakes, which is a really nice scenic spot. There are a few scenic viewpoints that look out on the lake throughout it. It's also a nice mix of easier flat stuff, crossing some small streams, and even a decently steep rocky part.
