Summer Hill Preserve

Description

The trail meanders through a mix of hardwood forests and wetland areas, featuring stone walls that hint at the land's agricultural history. Hikers can observe various tree species such as beech, red maple, tulip-poplar, black birch, and oak. The preserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and numerous bird species like the Baltimore Oriole and Scarlet Tanager. A notable feature along the trail is a beaver pond, where visitors can view a beaver lodge and may spot beavers in their natural habitat.

Easy

The trail is mostly flat with gentle inclines, making it suitable for hikers of all ages. The path is well-defined but includes sections with roots and rocks. Some areas may be damp, particularly near the wetland sections and after rainfall.​
