Jefferson Park Trail

Description

This trail offers a gentle walk through diverse ecological settings, including upland forests, wetlands, and a power line clearing. The path traverses state forest and Madison Land Conservation Trust properties, featuring stone walls indicative of the area's agricultural past. Hikers may encounter a variety of flora such as beech, red maple, tulip-poplar, black birch, and oak trees. The trail also crosses small streams and boggy areas adorned with skunk cabbage and false hellebore. The power line right-of-way provides an open habitat where deer are sometimes observed grazing.
