Blinnshed Loop Trail
Description
This trail offers an easy walk through a variety of second-growth forest settings. The path traverses undulating terrain, passing through diverse wetlands and mixed woodlands. Notable features include an extensive wetland near the beginning of the trail and several small stream crossings. In early spring, the area is adorned with lush groundcovers like skunk cabbage and false hellebore, along with the yellow blooms of spicebush. The trail also passes by a dense plantation of Norway spruce, providing thermal cover for wildlife. Throughout the hike, stone walls and old logging roads highlight the area's history of forest management.

Difficulty

Easy
The trail is mostly flat with some gentle inclines and declines. Certain sections may be boggy, especially near wetlands and stream crossings, making waterproof footwear advisable. The path is well-defined but can become less distinct in some areas. Stepstones and a decked walkway assist in crossing wetter sections, though caution is needed during high water periods.
